Citracado IPA is Stone Brewing’s 20th anniversary ale that pays tribute to their primary brewery located on Citracado Parkway in San Diego. The ingredients of this double IPA stay true to the name, Citra hops and avocado flower honey, and provide the unique wrinkle customary of anniversary brews.
As to be expected from Stone, Citracado is an explosion of intense hop flavors. Tropical fruit, resinous pine, and mouth-numbing bitterness shine bright in this ale, summing up the last 20 years of this hop obsessed brewery perfectly. The avocado flower honey adds a silky, almost creamy texture that brings an interesting twist to the familiar barrage of hops.
I had to purchase this IPA four times before I was able to hold on to it long enough to review it. That’s about as high of a recommendation I can give.
