The SweetWater Fish Sandwich Project (SWFSP) continues! The flaky fish sandwich cravings (FFSC) score currently stands at YES: 1 NO: 1. SweetWater Georgia Brown is up next in a critical tie breaker round. I will say…I’m already picturing the fish on the bottle between two thick slices of white bread…
Georgia Brown pours a clear toffee/brown color with a thick, bubbly head. The aroma is very sweet with heavy notes of chocolate and light hints of coffee. In short, it looks like an ale but smells like a stout.
The flavor profile starts with a blast of sweet chocolate followed by light citrusy hop notes intertwined with caramel. It finishes with a mild bitterness that lingers on the palate for a few seconds before disappearing. The body is smooth and light with a decent level of carbonation.
I really enjoyed SweetWater Georgia Brown. It’s a nice easy-drinker with a potent flavor profile. While a fish sandwich wouldn’t be my first food pairing choice for this beverage (I’m looking at you spicy roasted meat), I can’t say that it does not induce FFSC with a clear conscience. As such, Georgia Brown is officially a… MAYBE. The score remains tied up with only one beer left in the Tackle Box…Keep the tartar sauce on deck, homies.
